Step Into Design: The Portfolio Holiday Camp

Are you aged 16 to 19 and passionate about design? The School of Textiles and Design is hosting a Step Into Design Summer Camp from 6-17th July: a two-week immersive programme designed to help you explore key design disciplines and build a strong creative portfolio.
What's on the agenda?
Day 1: Design DNA
Discover your creative identity through research, visual exploration, and design thinking.
Day 2: Capture, Create, Transform
Explore photography, filmmaking, and digital content creation using professional and everyday tools.
Day 3: Augmented Fashion Wearables
Experiment with fashion, graphics, and augmented reality to create interactive design experiences.
Day 4: The Brand Lab
Develop a brand identity through logo design, visual storytelling, and creative communication.
Day 5: Design Explorers
Experience design in action during an off-campus visit to an immersive art and design destination.
Day 6: The Cinematic Release
Create a promotional campaign poster inspired by music, film, and visual storytelling.
Day 7: Turn Your Emotions into Spaces
Explore interior design by translating emotions into colour, materials, light, and form.
Day 8: Prototype Makers
Bring ideas to life through hands-on prototyping, packaging design, and creative making.
Day 9: AI and the Future of Design
Discover how generative AI can support creativity, ideation, and design development.
Day 10: Build, Curate, and Present
Create a professional digital portfolio and showcase your creative journey.

Dates: 6-17 July 2026
Location: Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus, Dubai Knowledge Park
Fees:
• AED 2,800 – Full programme (two weeks)
• AED 1,450 – One week
By the end of the programme, each participant will leave with a digital portfolio that reflects their personal brand, creative journey, and future aspirations. Certificates of completion will be provided, and can be further utilised in university applications.
Spaces are limited to maintain small group sizes. Upon registration, you will receive an email with a payment link to secure your place.
