Founded in 1994 by C. Brian Williams, Step Afrika! is the world’s leading authority on the art form of stepping. Under Mr. Williams’ leadership, stepping has evolved into one of America’s cultural exports. The company’s self-titled work Step Afrika! introduces audiences to stepping through both a traditional and contemporary lens. Step Afrika! combines percussive dance styles from historically African American fraternities and sororities, traditional African dances, and a range of contemporary dance and art forms to create a cohesive and compelling artistic experience.
