About this Event
Get ready for a day of hands-on STEM exploration at Engineering for Kids! On February 1st, 2025, from 10 AM to noon, we're hosting two exciting workshops designed to spark curiosity and ignite a passion for learning in young minds. These engaging sessions will introduce key engineering concepts through fun, interactive activities, tailored for different age groups.
Bubble Bliss (Ages 4-8)
Calling all Junior Engineers! Dive into the fascinating world of liquids with our "Bubble Bliss" chemical engineering workshop. Through hands-on experiments, young scientists will explore the properties of liquids and create their own unique bubble solutions. They'll learn about surface tension, elasticity, and other scientific principles while having a blast creating giant bubbles, exploring different bubble shapes, and testing which solution makes the strongest, longest-lasting bubbles. This activity encourages problem-solving, observation, and a love for scientific discovery.
Natural Filtration (Ages 8-11)
Apprentice Engineers, get ready to tackle a real-world challenge! In our "Natural Filtration" environmental engineering workshop, students will become environmental engineers, designing and building their own water filtration systems. They'll learn about the water cycle, the importance of clean water, and how natural processes filter water. Through hands-on experimentation with different filtration materials, participants will gain a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability and develop practical solutions to real-world problems. This workshop fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and an appreciation for the environment.
