Steev Baker is a lyric-focused singer/songwriter who performs emotional folk/punk songs with acoustic instruments. His most recent EP, All Joy, was released in 2023. He lives in Madison where he continues to write songs and perform with his backing band, Dirt Sermons (Emily Selk Loper on cello, Derek Freund on drums).The Belle Weather is a hurricane: the heavy, rhythmic storm of an acoustic guitar, the deep pulse of an upright bass, and the soaring elegance of cello, violin, and voice. They are the eye of the storm and the damage done - equal parts modern folk and indie rock - a fusion of inspired anthems and the art of simple storytelling.
