The NJO's third concert of the season will feature Lincoln Public Schools steel pan group PANgea! PANgea is the only group of its kind in Nebraska. The group was formed as a means to give percussionists throughout LPS more opportunities than they would find in a traditional concert band setting. PANgea is an entity of Lincoln Public Schools. Consisting of members grades 6-12, it is an auditioned group that rehearses once a week on Saturday mornings and performs 10-12 times each spring at various events. Serving as an ambassador for LPS, PANgea aims to reach many different organizations throughout the Lincoln community while providing educational performing opportunities to our students. Nearly all LPS middle and high schools are represented in our membership.
PANgea will play the first set followed by the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra in the second. The concert will take place March 6th at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel at 7:30pm.
