Sword & Buckler:

Sword and Buckler will be broken into two categories–but you can do both! The first category is for swords with blades up to 33” past the crossguard, and the second is for swords with blades up to 37” past the crossguard. There are specific weight and guard limitations as well, so please check the image on this post.
The shorter category is intended to give users of shorter messers and arming swords the chance to test their art without having to deal with later-period complex hilts and long blades, but fighters will be allowed to use shorter weapons in the longer-weapon event in as well (provided that it meets the weight minimums).
Partisan (formerly announced as Spear +)
This tournament will be fought with Descendant Leather 80" winged partisans (provided by Crossroads Swords). These weapons have hardwood shafts and synthetic blades and butt spikes that are stiff in the plane of the blade, which allow fencers to bind and wind with a high degree of fidelity. These partisans mimic the balance of steel weapons with about 2/3 the weight of originals, allowing for high-intensity spear fencing in ordinary tournament gear. Cutting and thrusting will be allowed, though there will be restrictions on cut angle, for safety. This event will require heavy clamshell gloves (mitten or hoof style), or medium to heavy-weight five-finger-style gloves with rigid knuckle protection, to avoid fingers being twisted.
