Join us as we celebrate a milestone anniversary - 69 years since the donation of Southern Pacific 2914! This magnificent turn-of-the-century steam locomotive, built in 1898, served the rails for an impressive 52 years, with a significant portion of its service dedicated to Kern County. On July 18, 1955, Southern Pacific generously donated 2914 to the people of Kern County.
Our goal is to raise awareness and appreciation for this incredible local steam engine by offering a unique experience. Visit us and:
- Step into the cab and explore
- Learn about its rich history
- Operate the iconic SP 6 chime whistle (powered by air)
- Pull the bell cord and more!
We hope to see you there, celebrating this remarkable piece of Kern County's railroad heritage!
(This is not a operational steam engine. All effects are done with imagination, smoke, and compressed air)
