Join Steamrail as we head to Bendigo for a day at the Bendigo Easter Festival behind steam locomotive R711 and heritage diesel locomotives.

There is much to see and do for the whole family at the Bendigo Easter Festival. Watch the Gala Parade, be entertained by roving street performers, visit the Rotary Art and Craft market or art gallery, be enthralled by the Goldfields library story telling tree, have fun at the Central Carnival on the rides, ride the vintage tram, wander around and admire the grandeur of the ‘gold era’ buildings or have a quiet lunch at one of the many fine hotels and cafes.
The Bendigo Easter Festival will culminate when thousands of people line the streets to watch the gorgeous display of colour in the Gala Parade. Experience the excitement as Bendigo’s newest Dragon Dai Gum Loong (the world’s longest Imperial Dragon!), weaves his way through the historic streetscapes of Bendigo.
For those looking for more railway action, your Steamrail Ticket will provide a 50% discount to entry at the Bendigo Model Railroaders' Easter Convention. This can be reached by a short bus ride (PTV) and walk from the station.
Sit back in your comfortable compartment and enjoy the scenery as our classic steam locomotive powers through the line's historic tunnels and viaducts. Experience our 'E Type' Carriages dating back to 1906 with beautiful timber work & pressed-tin ceilings, walk-through corridors and comfortable compartment style seating. Featuring 'old-school' air-con, with the windows wide open to beat the heat and listen to the engine working hard up the Central Victorian Hills. All seating is reserved.
ON-TRAIN SERVICES
Our on-train facilities include a kiosk which stocks a range of light refreshments, snacks and hot and cold drinks. A licensed bar will also be operating, serving a range of beers, wines and spirits. A range of souvenirs will also be able for purchase from our on-board store.
