RIoT is a TBED (Technology-based Economic Development) Non-Profit with focus on Job Creation through Entrepreneurship and enabling adoption of emerging technologies.

RIoT connects and empowers a global network of startups, professionals, government and industry partners, and other organizations - to advance the frontiers of IoT, AI, and Data technology and grow a thriving innovation economy.

RIoT runs a startup accelerator and other entrepreneurial support programs in North Carolina and Virginia.

About the talk

In an effort to give students more exposure to tech careers and the startup community, Greg Dunko is going to talk to us about RIoT and the RIoT Accelerator Program (RAP), and his career.

Greg is Director of Strategy at RIoT and also VP of Operations at the Wireless Research Center (WRC). Greg is leading RIoT efforts with the City of Wilson – including planning and execution of the Wilson Smart Agriculture Testbed. He also brings his substantial product development and operations experience to the RIoT Accelerator Program.

Prior to joining RIoT, Greg has served in numerous technical contributor and senior leadership roles at NASA, Sony Ericsson. HTC, BlackBerry, and NantHealth – most recently serving as COO at OpenNMS. In these roles, Greg has led numerous technology and innovation teams and has generated over 40 patents. In addition, Greg has taught at a number of colleges and universities – including leading the ECE senior design program at NC State.

In his spare time, Greg mentors FRC Robotics team 4828 Roboeagles and serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in the ECE department at NC State. With his leftover time, Greg enjoys travel, hiking and spending time with his family and his dog Aki.
