About this Event
Camera, lights, action! Join educators from Beam Camp/Beam Center and the Lewis Latimer House as we celebrate Women's History Month and explore the work of Muriel Tramis, one of the first Black female video game designers. You'll have the chance to create and then animate your own characters and environments using cardboard, wire, and stop motion animation.
About Beam Camp:
At Beam Camp, youth aged 9-17 and staff learn to make their ideas a reality. Through fine and manual arts, technology, and collaboration, Beam Campers cultivate hands-on skills while exploring innovative thinking, design, and the creative process. Beam Camp has a fully equipped woodshop, metal shop, fabrication lab, and an arts and craft barn ready for ceramics, sewing, painting and more. Learn more at beamcenter.org!
STEAM Saturdays at LLH are free events, open to all ages and abilities, that feature a hands-on activity, a family-friendly scavenger hunt, and self-guided tours. Drop in any time between 12PM - 4PM! Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
