Program Topic
Disaster Resilience: How Communities Recover, Adapt and Prepare
Major disasters reshape communities by impacting homes, infrastructure and the lives of residents, especially those already vulnerable. This program highlights how Georgia State faculty and students are advancing disaster recovery research and helping communities prepare for and respond to future challenges through collaborative policy work in Georgia and beyond.
Professor John Travis Marshall and Dean Courtney Anderson will share insights from their NOAA funded project developing post-disaster recovery ordinances for Chatham County, along with lessons drawn from national disaster recovery efforts.
