About this Event
This presentation is part of our State of the Child training series. It will be an interactive & inspiring event for professionals who work with foster youth in Mendocino County, held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 9:00am until 3:00pm at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center.
This training event will be about understanding tools for healing from trauma, using the power of awe and joy.
This will be one full day with Dr. Dacher Kelther, Director of the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley and author of Awe: the Science of Everyday Wonder; and Dr. MaryCatherine McDonald, trauma researcher, life coach, and author "The Joy Reset: Six Ways Trauma Steals Happiness and How to Win it Back." They will offer strategies that will be useful in finding healing and growth from trauma. In addition to their presentations, we will also provide a catered breakfast and lunch and opportunities for connecting with other professionals in Mendocino County.
We're grateful for the Title IV-E grant funds, which help us provide this event. These funds are specifically allocated to providing training and support for caregivers and professionals who work with foster youth and/or youth who are at-risk of entering the foster care system. If you're unsure of your eligibility to attend, please contact our office: [email protected].
