State of Play · Photography Vernissage and Zine Launch

State of play is a celebration of predominantly Ottawa and Montreal-based artists—including painters, dancers, musicians, and poets—immersed in the act of creating.

A collection of unposed studio portraits, candid environmental portraits of artists creating in their studio spaces, and collaborative and improvisational performances, the exhibition aims to highlight and celebrate the vibrancy of being in a state of play.

My hope is that when you see these images, you can feel the assuredness and confidence of each artist’s expression. I also hope it piques your curiosity and encourages you to explore the work of local artists across disciplines.

The first fifty people to reserve a free ticket to the vernissage on Thursday April 11th at 5pm will receive a limited-run broadsheet zine containing the exhibition images.
