Embarking the journey of a technology startup, how can founders capture global business opportunities and benefit from China's reopening?

Two speakers are invited to discuss and share their experiences at our hosting partner, Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Singapore Management University.


Topic 01: Global Economy Outlook 2023 Impacting technology startups by Mr Adrian Tong

How will the recent stagflation and upcoming global depression affect startups’ fund raising and expansion? Funding is always an important element for startups to grow and expand. Technology startups will need to understand how the bigger economy will affect investors' confidence, as well as the right channels to raise the right funds.

Startups also need to tell better stories to sell themselves and align their services and products to the changing economy. Adrian will share some insights based on the current global economy trends.

The slew of announcements of tough new regulations and stringent enforcement of existing rules have affected many of the biggest companies in China. What is the impact to the businesses and what can foreign investors and companies can take advantages after China's opening?

Mr Adrian Tong serves SMEs and startup clients since 2007 and helps startup clients with protecting their personal assets from business risks

He specializes in IP and Cyber Security Insurances and has been helping clients with investments. He is good at analyzing the market and tracking technology trends. He is also the Author of 5 articles for FPAS’s “Financial Planning” Magazine and was invited to share market forecasts on FM 963 and 958 on a few occasions.

Mr Warren Teh is an experienced serial entrepreneur and started his first business in 1999. Since then he has ventured into various industries, including telecommunications, food and beverage and business consultancy for the Chinese market.

His extensive business knowledge and experience in China has enabled him to provide clients with practical online and offline business and marketing solutions.
