Meghann started raising a service dog because she wanted something to do with her boys, not because she had some bigger mission in mind. Turns out that's kind of the point.

Training a service dog takes two to three years: obedience work, public access rules, constant supervision, and then the hard part — handing the dog over to someone else once he's ready. Meghann knew that going in.

What she didn't expect:
