Are you ready to get a start on your training for AIDS/LifeCycle 2025? Just want to get out and ride and have some fun? Join the Starting Up ride series! Every ride in this non-progressive series is designed to have something for both the new rider and more experienced riders. Every route is a true out and back route, where the way back overlaps the way you got there, so you can turn back at any time you need to. If you only ride 5 miles, great! You’ve started on your way and will get better every week. Already in some cycling shape and going for some miles? Do the full route! Each route has some suggested turn back points, but at any point you can turn back and still be on the supported route. See you soon!
We’ll head across Golden Gate Bridge on this route and make our way over Camino Alto and then stay on a flat route to Fairfax. Camino Alto is frequently on routes in Marin and will become an old friend before long. After Fairfax, for those who want to go the distance, we’ll climb White Hill (some say it is roughly like Quadbuster on the Ride in June) and then turn around at Lagunitas. Haven’t crossed the bridge before on your bike? Make it across and it’s a 12 mile round trip, which is a great start. Biking through the Presidio is beautiful, and getting that picture of you on a bike at the bridge is a great fundraising shot!
The route is at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47879426/
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations.
Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP so we have an idea of who’s coming. Have questions? Contact Chris Starr at [email protected]
REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s), tire changing tools.
