Join us for our next reading, Sunday, July 7th at Summer Bar&Lounge, featuring Gaia Patience Veenis and LaMar Mitchell. And as always, our fabulous Open Mic!
Gaia Patience Veenis is a prose writer originally from the North Bay Area and currently residing in San Francisco. She is working on a memoir titled I’m Sorry I Have to do This about her chaotic adolescence in the late ‘90s/Y2K era and how she found the strength to save her own life. Her nonfiction and fiction prose has appeared in Y2K Quarterly, Writing Without Walls, The Bicycle Review, Airplane Reading, and other places. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from San Diego State and has taught College English in Northern California and Northern Ireland. Some of her favorite adult memories involve traveling the world and sleeping on strangers’ couches.
LAMAR MITCHELL
...is a poet/screenwriter/novelist/writer who identifies as non-binary/bisexual/queer, and lives in San Leandro, CA. Born December 16, 1978 at the original site of Area 51, you can find him walking upside down in underpasses at night, and walking backwards through the city by day. Recently published his first poetry chapbook by Queer Healing Arts Center, titled “Psychedelic Existentialism” which was just
released in May 2024. Is a student of cinema and an avid geek.
