About this Event

STARTing Over Safely: Bridging Care for Youth with RAD, ASD, and PTSD

You’re invited to attend CA-START San Diego’s June 2026 CET, where we will explore how to support youth with Reactive Attachment Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and PTSD during major provider changes, service endings, and placement moves.

This case-based discussion will focus on how involuntary changes in care can activate feelings of rejection, criticism, abandonment, loss of control, and mistrust. Participants will examine strategies for reducing rupture, supporting continuity, strengthening provider handoffs, and helping new teams inherit what has already been learned about rapport, regulation, safety, and communication.

Who Should Attend:

This event is ideal for healthcare providers, mental health professionals, educators, social workers, and community members who work with or support individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and co-occurring complex mental health vulnerabilities. We encourage participants to come ready to share their insights and learn from one another.

How to Participate:

This CET session will be held in a HYBRID format, allowing participants to join in the way that works best for them:
