2 day workshop
Thursday Feb 9 , 6-8 pm
Thursday Feb 16 , 6-8 pm
Join Erica Daniels, the founder of Kejic Productions, in this two-part series, as she walks you through the steps of starting your own production company and perfecting your pitch.
For any filmmakers whose dreamt of making a living from the moment they’ve picked up a camera , starting a production company can come across as an overwhelming task, and it’s difficult to know where to begin. There are so many elements involved and so many different things to consider, that your focus can be lost. Erica will share all the things she wished she’d known at the beginning of her journey, to help make your adventure easier.
The term ‘film production company’ is a broad term, so it’s important to make sure you know what kind of production company you’re going to create. A production company is responsible for the physical creation of video content like films, documentaries, and commercial videos. Usually, production companies produce two types of projects: content they develop themselves using their own creative team, and content they’re hired to produce for clients.
Erica will guide you through the process of what you need to get started. Help you define what your company’s niche market will be, what the vision for your company is, what stories you want to tell, or services you want to offer, how to make a business plan, what legalities you need to get in place, how to register your company, how to seek out funding, how to build a team, how to source equipment, how to market, brand and make a successful pitch.
Each person’s idea for a production company is different. Remember that you and your production company will walk it’s own path. Erica wants to make sure you won’t walk alone.
