Start Making Sense performs at Martyrs' Thursday, November 5th, 2026. Doors 6:30PM. Show 7:30PM. $30. 21+. NIGHT 1 OF 3!!!
Get ready for three incredible nights of Talking Heads music, brought to you by some of the best musicians in the business! Thursday night kicks off with a unique, two-part experience: the first set channels the raw, early energy of '77–'79 as a sharp four-piece band plays tracks from the first three albums. For the second set, the stage explodes into a full seven-piece ensemble to deliver the hits and fan favorites. The celebration keeps rolling through Friday and Saturday with that same powerhouse seven-piece lineup—performing the ultimate hits and "burning down the house" to complete what we here in Chicago call a legendary Three-Peat!
If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this 7-piece Talking Heads Tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads entire career. Together they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, giving you a "once in a lifetime" experience. Prepare yourself for a rockin', funkin', danceable celebration of the new-wave art punk you loved from the 80's !!!
