You might be working in fitness, personal training, or outdoor education and want something structured and evidence-based. Or you could be a physio, rehab specialist, or health professional looking for a safe, functional way to support clients across a wide range of abilities.
However you come into it, Nordic walking can sit alongside what you already do, or become something you build around.
Our Nordic Walking Instructor qualification combines structured online learning with focused, face-to-face training.
You start with the INWA™ Online Foundation Course, building strong foundations in theory, technique, and teaching principles at your own pace. You then move into the two-day practical course, where you apply that knowledge in real settings, learning how to teach, coach, and lead safely and professionally with one of our qualified National Trainers.
Practical courses are delivered in small groups to protect quality, allow detailed feedback, and make sure every candidate receives individual attention across the two days.
British Nordic Walking is the UK’s only provider licensed by the International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA), the global governing body for Nordic walking. Your qualification is internationally recognised and built on the INWA education system developed in Finland, the birthplace of the sport.
You will train in the INWA 10 Step Method™. The global standard for Nordic walking instruction. This structured approach gives you the confidence to:
• Teach safe, effective technique
• Work with clients from rehabilitation through to fitness and performance
• Adapt sessions for mixed abilities and varied fitness levels
• Improve posture, balance, strength, and long-term well-being
Qualifying is only the beginning.
As a British Nordic Walking instructor, you gain ongoing professional support, access to CPD and advanced training, practical marketing guidance, and a clear pathway to progress within the national structure.
