About this Event
Experience an unforgettable night of Argentine tango in New York City, featuring a professional showcase, a special pre-milonga class with world-renowned tango artist Guillermina Quiroga, live music by the Maurizio Najt Tango Quartet, and a full social milonga.
Join us for the third New York City edition of Starry Night Tango — a distinctive cultural experience where tango students and maestros share the stage in a professionally curated showcase, celebrating the art of learning, performance, and community.
This year’s edition expands into a full evening experience, bringing together stage performance, live instruction, live music, and social dance in one continuous celebration of Argentine tango.
The night begins with a curated showcase, featuring students and teachers presenting collective works and Pro-Am pieces in an elegant theatrical setting.
Following the performance, guests are invited to take part in a special pre-milonga tango class led by Guillermina Quiroga, internationally recognized as one of the greatest female tango dancers of all time. A legendary figure of Argentine tango, Guillermina has inspired generations of dancers around the world through her elegance, musicality, artistry, and extraordinary understanding of the dance.
The evening then continues with the Starry Night Gala Milonga, featuring live music by the Maurizio Najt Tango Quartet. Led by renowned pianist Maurizio Najt, a central figure in the New York tango revival, and featuring Latin Grammy-winning bandoneonist Rodolfo Zanetti, the quartet brings an exceptional live music experience to the social dance floor.
Throughout the milonga, the quartet accompanies both the social dancing and our signature Maestro Rounds — where teachers first dance with each other and then share the floor with students from every participating school, creating one of the most vibrant and inclusive moments of the night.
More than an event, Starry Night Tango is a space where performance, live instruction, live music, and social dance come together — connecting artists, students, and audiences in one shared experience.
