About the Event
Starry Night Tango returns to New York City for its 4th NYC Edition, an expanded cultural experience connecting performance, education, social dance, and community.
This edition brings together students, teachers, social dancers, and tango lovers through a professionally curated showcase, the launch of our new Milonguero Feedback Lab, a special Pre-Milonga Master Class, and the Starry Night Gala Milonga.
The evening begins with the Starry Night Tango Showcase, featuring collective works and Pro-Am pieces where students and teachers share the stage. The showcase highlights the educational process as part of tango’s cultural transmission, celebrating growth, mentorship, and the journey behind each dancer’s work.
Following the showcase, we introduce the Milonguero Feedback Lab: a non-competitive, Tango Pista–inspired experience created for social dancers who want to deepen their tango without performing or competing. Participants will dance in ronda to short musical excerpts and receive private written feedback focused on embrace, connection, musicality, circulation, floorcraft, and interpretation.
The evening continues with a special Pre-Milonga Master Class led by an instructor to be announced, offering dancers an opportunity to refine their movement, connection, and musicality before stepping onto the social dance floor.
The Starry Night Gala Milonga then brings the community together for a vibrant night of social tango, featuring live music by the Maurizio Najt Tango Quartet — a rare opportunity to experience tango with a live orchestra in a social dance setting. Throughout the milonga, the orchestra accompanies both the social dance floor and our signature Maestro–Student Rounds, where teachers and participating students come together in one of the most vibrant and inclusive moments of the night.
A complete evening of performance, feedback, instruction, community, and social tango in the heart of New York City.
