We're pleased to have two renowned dancers and instructors start our dance with a basic lesson on Foxtrot, the quintessential American ballroom dance. Based on jazz rhythms and the joyful spirit of Ragtime and the Big Band era, Foxtrot encapsulates the spirit of America in the Jazz Age, the Roaring 20's and the rise of social dance as an art form.
Jonathan Medlin and Malin Allert have won multiple Championships at events around the world. They coach the NCSU Ballroom Dance team and are the organizers of the Triangle Open Dancesport competition held at the NCSU campus each year.
Join us on October 11th to see this wonderful dance couple in action, both as instructors and, midway through our dance, as championship level dancers in a demonstration they'll provide.
As always, we'll have 2 1/2 hours of music after the lesson so you can enjoy songs for all the ballroom dances and most social dances. Perhaps most important at the October dance, come to see how exciting and beautiful truly exceptional Foxtrot can be.
