Star Party is an out-of-this-world live stand-up comedy occurrence at Saturn Birmingham. Hosted by local luminaries Chris Ivey and Wes Van Horn, Star Party invites a revolving lineup of the best and brightest comedians in the cosmos into its orbit every month. A Birmingham legend, Jermaine “FunnyMaine” Johnson is a veteran stand-up comic, actor and writer. He has been featured on ESPN’s College GameDay, Comedy Central’s Hart of the City with Kevin Hart, CBS College Sports, BETs Being Mary Jane with Gabrielle Union, Uptown Comic on the Bounce Network and Sullivan and Sons on TBS. Johnson gained internet fame in 2016 with his “How Bama Fans…” college football series averaging ~500K weekly viewers across all platforms. Selected as one of “The Root's "100 Most Influential African Americans of 2020" for his work in activism and mentorship, Jermaine serves as an incredible ambassador for our beloved Magic City.
Shaunak Godkhindi is an Atlanta comedian who performs all around the country. A featured performer at SXSW, High Plains Comedy Fest, Laughing Skull Fest, Red Clay Comedy Festival, and New South Comedy Fest, Shaunak has opened for Kyle Kinane, Rory Scovel, Joe Zimmerman, Nore Davis, Sean Patton, Aakash Singh, and many more. His comedic style is fun, spontaneous, positive and silly! He once made a lady laugh so hard she peed a little and she emailed him after the show saying that her night was ruined. The second season of his web series I’ll Take It was released earlier this year.
Mandal is a comedian out of Atlanta, Ga. who can be seen on Adult Swim, Don’t Tell Comedy, and heard on Netflix is a Joke Radio on SiriusXM. He has opened for the likes Donnell Rawlings, Tig Notaro, and Rory Scovel and performed in festivals across the country like SF SketchFest, Accidental Comedy Fest, Memphis Comedy Festival, and Laughing Skull Comedy Festival.
