Topic: Hunting the Hunter
Winter star gazing in southern New Mexico is unparalleled. Enjoy the tales of the Orion constellation, learn about what cultures around the world saw in this constellation and about Messier 42, Orion's Nebula. Amateur astronomers from the NMMHS Astronomy League will delight and entertain with telescoping of the planets Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and more. Event begins rain or shine at 6:00 in the New Mexico Museum of Space History outdoor observatory area. Bring layers as temperatures could drop down to the 30s once the sun sets. In case of weather or poor visibility the event will be moved inside to the Tombaugh Dome and Planetarium.
