Crewe’s popular Star of Light Ceremony will return to Crewe in December, with a new name and a new location! Formerly known as the Tree of Light Ceremony, the Star of Light Ceremony will take place on Lyceum Square (CW1 2DA) at 5.30pm for the first time. The Star of Light Ceremony enables the Crewe community to gather and remember their loved ones through songs, prayers, readings, reflection and the lighting of the Memory Candle.
NEW FOR THIS YEAR – messages to loved ones will be displayed on the big screen in Lyceum Square during the Ceremony. Crewe residents can submit tributes to their loved ones through our website.
Stars can be collected from the following designated community locations from Monday 10th November and dedicated to people who have been loved and lost:
Belong Care Home (CW2 6NA)
Broo Café (CW1 2BZ)
Cheshire East Council, Municipal Buildings (CW1 2BJ)
Crewe Cemetery (CW1 3JG)
Crewe Library (CW1 2BB)
Crewe Town Council (CW1 2DL)
Mini Beans, Crewe Market Hall (CW1 2BL)
The deadline to return stars to the drop-off points is Sunday 30th November. The stars will then be collected together and displayed at locations in and around Lyceum Square.
Stars will be limited to two per person and both sides of the star can be used for tributes.
Full details of the event can be found on our Star of Light webpage: www.crewetowncouncil.gov.uk/whats-on-events/star-of-light
