When the sun goes down, the night sky lights up at the Virginia Living Museum. Join us after hours for free outdoor stargazing (weather permitting) and an unforgettable lineup of Planetarium and Laser shows. Whether you’re here to explore the constellations or rock out to a sky-synced soundtrack, there’s something for everyone.Stargazing
As the sky darkens, our astronomy team will guide you through Virginia’s night sky. Look for planets, star clusters, and seasonal constellations from our observation areas.
Telescopes: Abbitt Observatory or Conservation Garden, depending on the weather forecast.
Observing is free and open to all event attendees.

Please note: Planetarium and Laser shows require advance registration and a paid ticket.
5:00pm – Star of Wonder: An exploration of the possible identity of the Star of Bethlehem
6:00 pm – Virginia Skies (planetarium program): A live guided tour of the current evening sky with a staff astronomer.
7:00 pm – Holiday Magic: A mixed music show for Christmastime.
8:30 pm – Laser Queen: A mix of the band’s greatest hits.
10:00 pm – Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon: The entire Pink Floyd album set with laser imagery.
