About this Event
Stansted 15 - Cinema Event
In this final event for the ‘migration on film’- spring 2026 season, we present the landmark documentary film Stansted 15 by Sue Clayton. In 2017, fifteen friends staged a peaceful protest to stop unlawful deportations from the UK. Next they were charged with terrorism. What happened to them over the next 2 years should concern us all. In collaboration with the Migration Museum, we will also present the short film We've Always Been Here by BE (Migration Museum Community Curator).
Panel includes: Prof. Sue Clayton (Goldsmiths), Mona Jamil (Migration Museum), Toby Nicholas (Migrants' Rights Network), Dr Marta Minetti (Goldsmiths), Dr Sultan Doughan (Goldsmiths; co-director of Migrant Futures Institute). Chair: Natalie Katsou.
Food prepared by Plateful Cafe (refugee-led charity) will be available to purchase on site.
Location: Linton Kwesi Johnson Lecture Theatre (Building PSH-LG0.2.)
The series 'migration on film' hosted at Goldsmiths Cinema Programme - Spring 2026 is co-curated by Dr Natalie Katsou and Shereener Browne and forms part of the research project 'Performing Sanctuary' in theatre and law by Dr Natalie Katsou.
