This Thursday, Standup Comedy Asia Out Loud is bringing you another great night of top-notch standup comedy! We've got Burt Teplitsky coming all the way from Los Angeles, as well as some killer openers, Matt Tran and Jack Nugget and a very special guest host, the incomparable Micka Chu! BURT TEPLITZKY- Our headliner Burt Teplitzky is the weekly host of "Comedy on Wry" in Hollywood, California, is featured on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, and is the author of three comedy books, most recently "It's Not Going to Be Ok, But That's Ok," and is about to record his own comedy special "Scar Tissue" this coming July!
MATT TRAN - Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Matt Tran is ambiguously Southeast Asian looking. He's a regular at Asia Out Loud's Indika Open Mics, doing shows all over Saigon, and loves telling embarrassing stories, absurd shower thoughts, and bullshit.
JACK NUGGET - A prolific writer with roots in musical theater, Jack Nugget is a comic with a peculiar perspective. His style of comedy is experimental, animated, raunchy, graphic and somehow respectfully irreverent.
Known for sneaking into bars for open mic at 17, Jack has come a long way since then. During that time, he headlined in Dalat and Danang, opened for international acts (such as Dwayne Perkins, Joe Vu, Dana Alexander and Stephen Carlin) and became the youngest champion of the Vietnam Comedy Competition HCMC 2022 at only 19.
Having done all that, Jack has firmly secured his place as the laughing stock of his family. He is also part of Local Lầy, a creative collective that produces shows merging art in multiple mediums.
Micka Chu - Micka Chu is a French Russian MC, TV Host and Media Personality in Vietnam. She is invited on various TV shows such as “Nhập Gia Tuy Tục” and “Muốn ăn phải lăn vào bếp” and is the Host/Producer for “The Micka Show ».
