Standup 101 Class Instructed by Comedy Central's Chanel Ali

Chanel Ali instructs this 4 week course that provides a comprehensive breakdown on how to write and perform standup comedy. She has two Comedy Central specials, an hour special on Epix, and is passed at top NYC comedy clubs where she performs nightly.

You will leave this class with the following:

1. At least a 5 minute comedy set

2. A firm understanding on how to cultivate new jokes

3. A progressive method to help you conquer stage fright/fear on stage and in life

4. All of the tools that you need to begin performing at any open mic

5. You have the option to perform your new material in a real comedy club as part of the class show!

The class will meet at a location in NYC - at a location TBD every Sunday starting May 28 from 12-2pm. It's challenging to take on a new venture. This isn't about proclaiming how funny you are. This is about building your knowledge so you can at least explore comedy with more comfortability. The combination of writing and performing comedy will aid you in any artistic endeavor as well as provide you with more confidence in your public speaking. There is bravery in exploring comedy at any level and these lessons will give you a strong foundation as an artist.
