Standing on Shoulders presented by Instrumental Society of Calgary

This double bill brings you into the creative process of composers, tracking inspiration and showcasing Canadian voices in composition. Lorna Tsai, Jennifer Frank, and Oksana Yaremchuk present Brahms’ dazzling Horn Trio, followed by Canadian composer Kelly-Marie Murphy’s Call of the Horn, written a century later and inspired by Brahms’ work. Calgarian talent is also spotlighted as violinist Donovan Seidle premieres a new work written for him by violist and composer Arthur Bachmann.
