Stand-up Comedy Class at Library in Silver Spring (Brigadier General Charl)

Hi All,

This Free Event will be held in Silver Spring, Maryland at this library: Brigadier General Charles E. McGee Library: 900 Wayne Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910

Stand-Up Comedy Class: Come learn, practice, and perform Stand-Up comedy in a comfortable-welcoming environment at Brigadier General Charles E. McGee Library.

First timers are welcome and encouraged to come as well as people who have performed stand-up comedy before or currently.

Please bring pencil/pen and pad to take notes when necessary.

Each attendee is encouraged to perform however there is no pressure to perform. If you prefer to watch and get a vibe of the setting, that is okay.

Each attendee will get a chance to perform a five-minute set. We will help and encourage you on how to prepare a five-minute set during class time.

Here are a few different types of comedic styles we will go over in case you want to do your own research before class: (1) premise-punch round; (2) Crowd-work; (3) Storytelling; (4) Late Night T.V.-Jokes round. (I will teach everyone how to write late night T.V. Jokes beforehand).

We will teach important basics of stand-up comedy, along with decades worth of pointers to put you ahead of the stand-up comedy game, introduction into nuances that took fifteen years to realize.

Also, this class is a great way to put you in an environment of likeminded people and a great change-up from your regular day-to-day life.

If you are the type of person to cancel, please wait until you are certain you will attend stand-up comedy class, to allow space for others.

If however, you do need to cancel, please do so ahead of time to allow others to have space.
