Stand-Up Class with Jim Seward

This stand-up comedy class is a 6 week intensive where students will learn how to write a 3-5 minute comedy set. Participants will learn how to craft jokes as well as personalize their experiences to produce unique material for the stage. Students who successfully complete the course will perform in a graduation show that will be open to the public.

CLASS DATES: August 18, 25; September 1, 8, 15, 22, from 7-9pm

CLASS GRADUATION SHOW: September 24th at 7pm

FEE: $100 for all 6 classes

AGES: 18+ (16 and up with parental permission)

*NOTE: This event is subject to cancellation due to unforseen circumstances. Class fee is non-refundable, except in the case of cancellation from Metro Parks or the Instructor, in which case there will be a pro-rated refund equal to the number of classes unfulfilled. We do not offer refunds for student absences, regardless of circumstances. Payment will be collected on the first day of class, cash or check only, and checks should be made out to Creative Parks Nashville (our friends group).

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jim Seward has performed all over the country, and shared the stage with comedians like Tommy Davidson, Jon Reep, Jon Heffron, Basile, and Owen Benjamin, to name a few. Jim has over a decade of experience performing. In addition to stand-up comedy, Jim is a skilled improviser, and one of the original members of the Plan B Comedy Group in Norfolk, VA. He currently performs with the Nashville Improv Company. He is also an actor and recently started his own production company, Jam Jar Films, whith his production partner, Jarvis Bynum, where they continue to produce award-winning short films.
