Stainer's Crucifixion

All Saints Church Choir will join forces with Christchurch Church Choir to present 'The Crucifixion' on Palm Sunday this year.

'The Crucifixion' is a meditation on the sacred passion of Christ. It is a short oratorio composed by Sir John Stainer in 1887. It is scored for a SATB choir and organ, and features solos for bass and tenor and includes five hymns for congregational participation. For this performance the organist will be Tim Ingold - Director of Music at Christchurch - and the choirs will be directed by James MacDowall-Scott, Director of Music at All Saints. The soloists are John Henley (Bass) and Peter Holmes (Tenor).

This is offered as part of our devotions for Holy Week. There is no charge. All are welcome.
