Staffordshire’s very own Stafford Walking Street Festival is back with a new location along Greengate Street while the work on the Market Square is going on. The first Walking Street in 2023 will be held on Thursday 13th April between 4 pm and 9pm and no admission feeWinning several awards last year, this hugely popular event will be full of street food vendors , mobile bars and entertainment with a fantastic line upon stage; The Theatrics, Bryan Brindley, the return of popular band The Players and introducing Head over Heels.
The cosplay theme will run through al the Walking Streets this year with the Edon Storm troopers attending and kiddies favourites Paw Patrol appearing just after 4pm. There will be displays from Dappa Dance and Dance Fusion with Stu Haycock breakfast presenter with 107.3 Stafford FM will be leading the fun and games for the day, with the sad passing last year of our Town Crier Peter Taunton the Leek Town Crier Bill Lomas will officially open the event

2It’s great to be back after our Winter break and excited about the new site in the town centre running down Greengate Street, the food vendors, mobile bars and retail stalls, community and charity stands all situated in the one place. We could of easy said we would wait until the Autumn when the work is completed but we wanted to have something for everyone to look forward to each second Thursday of the month
St Chad’s Church, the oldest building in the town with a remarkable history built in the late 1100’s will be open to the public plus The Ancient High House the largest Elizabethan timber framed building in the country built in 1595, will be open late for folk to have a look round the current exhibition ‘K*ll or Cure’ showcasing poisons and curious substances their uses in the past both for curing and for killing, either deliberately or accidentally.
It’s a great excuse to get out and about have a look around the great independent shops and cafes, pop into the bars and restaurants and maybe carry on into the early hours at the clubs and late night venues
Although some tables and chairs are on site, feel free to bring your own as you might at a festival
