“A formidable force” - Around The Sound
“Compelling and captivating” - Nannup Music Festival
“Combo of power and honesty” - Declan Byrne (Triple J)
“Stacey Ann is full of self-assurance and confidence” - Helen Shanahan
Perth artist Stacey Ann conveys both fragility and power with her sincere storytelling, unforgettable melodies and beautiful arrangements, completed with a soulful 4-piece ensemble.
“This was one of the first songs I ever wrote, after my high school boyfriend and I had broken up. This song just flowed out of a stream of consciousness and it was just a matter of me sitting at the piano and feeling. The words poured through this heartbroken and sorrowful state as an outlet to my emotion”
“When someone tells you after a breakup that you’re an invisible black hole left in their life, you find this piece of yourself that wants to become bold and strong and distinguishable”
“This song is about grieving the relationship you once had and really missing that person but also realising that you tried your best and that your life will move on without them, if not flourish even more. Perhaps as you blossom they will be the one who becomes more invisible”
Stacey Ann collaborated with her 4-piece band in the production of this song, featuring Riley Sutton on drums and Blake Weller on bass to provide the powerful and timelessly upbeat feel. Ashton Weaver on guitar and Ruby Miguel on piano and backing vocals conveys the emotional and tumultuous journey of a break up.
Having been selected for the 2022 Nannup Music Festival line up and drawing from influences like Fleetwood Mac, Gretta Ray and Florence & The Machine, Stacey Ann is quickly marking her way as an independent artist
