Join Stacey Abrams, the #1 New York Times bestselling author and NAACP Image Award winner, as she discusses her new book, Stacey Speaks Up. This is the third installment in the acclaimed Stacey’s Stories picture book series, illustrated by Kitt Thomas. In Stacey Speaks Up, Stacey and her friends look forward to TacoPizza FryDay but are disheartened to learn that some classmates can't afford lunch. They resolve to make a difference by raising their voices, demonstrating how even children can effect meaningful change. The discussion will be moderated by Katie Rinderle, a Georgia-based educator and advocate for inclusive education that centers on the well-being of all children.
The Kidnote event will take place on Saturday, October 5 at 10:00 AM on the DeKalb County Stage in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Decatur. The 45-minute discussion with Stacey Abrams will be followed by a book signing.
