St Paul's meander
About this Event
This is where London began. Atop Ludgate Hill, the great dome of St Paul's has commanded the skyline for over three centuries but the story of this corner of the city stretches back far further. Beneath the streets lie the bones of Roman London; in the hidden gardens and narrow lanes, the medieval city is still visible if you know where to look. This is one of the most historically layered walks in London, and one of the most surprising.
From a 3,000 year old Assyrian brick tucked in a churchyard garden to a Roman temple buried beneath a modern office block.
Approximately 2.5 hours Starts: Cafe Nero, outside St Paul's Underground Station
