Gotta do something! You’re antsy after a long grey winter. You are imagining excitement. You need that spark, that feeling that something is about to happen and you have to be part of it. Anticipation of wonderful things to come and before you know it – Spring Art Crawl is here. You can work out all of your spring fling needs by coming to see the amazing talents and art works of our spectacular local artists when you plan to visit the Schmidt Spring Art Crawl.
The Schmidt Spring Art Crawl, in coordination with the St. Paul Art Crawl and the West 7th Arts District, will take place on April 25 – 27, 2025.
Your crawl experience begins at the historic Schmidt Brewery-turned artist lofts and creative workspace. Observe over 80 artists and artisans exhibiting and selling their craft throughout 5 levels of the Brewhouse, from the tunnel to the rooftop overlooking the St. Paul Skyline. Schmidt Resident Artists and local guest Artists are exhibiting paintings, ceramics, illustrations, jewelry, photography, block prints, glass art, digital work, healing arts, fiber arts, sand art, and more.
To showcase our local musicians, “Sounds of Schmidt”, has been added to this art craw. Local bands and performing artists will be playing at the Schmidt Artist Lofts, Rathskeller, and the White Squirrel. A schedule of performers is on the Art Crawl webpage.
Open Palette live painting and art demonstrations will be conducted by several local artists during the Art Crawl. Attend a session to see if you are inspired to test your own artistic abilities.
The 44th Annual MN Congressional District High School Art Competition will be displayed in the Atrium.
Expand your art adventure by visiting the other galleries and art venues located around West 7th Street area. Neighboring venues such as Friedli Art Gallery, Great River Gallery and The Schmidt Rathskeller are participating with more art and artists on West 7th Street.
Enjoy the culinary arts while you are on West 7th Street. Food trucks will be on site during the art crawl. You can check in with restaurants only a short walk up West 7th and Randolph.
Make a whole day of it (or the weekend) in the West 7th Arts District of St. Paul.
