Crailo State Historic Site invites you to come celebrate St. Nicholas Day on Saturday, Dec. 7th from 11am-3pm! This family-friendly event is open to all and FREE of charge.This medieval saint’s day was brought by the Dutch colonists to the Hudson River Valley and was traditionally celebrated on December 6. Festivities included gift giving, baked holiday treats, family revelry and of course, a visit from St. Nicholas, known as Sinterklaas to the Dutch!
The museum will be open for exploration, including Crailo’s famous cellar kitchen, where interpreters will prepare traditional seasonal treats, using 17th and 18th century recipes. The day will include crafts for children, hot Dutch cocoa and refreshments, music and of course – a visit from St. Nicholas (hopefully you’ve been good this past year)! Be sure to stop by Crailo’s Marketplace Museum Shop, for unique gifts for everyone on your list.
