St Luke “Community” United Methodist Church Annual Anniversary Golf Tournament

The St. Paul Mission Church (now St Luke “Community” United Methodist Church) was the first name given to the church in 1933. On July 14, 1974, St. Luke held its first services at the R.L. Thornton Freeway location under the newly anointed leadership of newly appointed Pastor Zan Wesley Holmes, Jr. He also added the word “Community” to our name to proclaim to the world that St. Luke Church would always work for our Lord Jesus Christ through community service.

United Methodist Men leads and supports the church’s scouting ministry (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Campfire), encourages participation in several programs serving at-risk youth and advocates for and supports men seeking to prevent domestic violence.

Proceeds benefit St Luke Scouting Ministries

Of the millions of kids that join scouting only about 2% ever make the rank of Eagle Scout. By the time a young man reaches eagle they will have studied medicine, politics, journalism, and finance and project management. We have 80 young men who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as part BSA Troop 914.
