St Joseph, foster father of Jesus, is one of the most beloved saints among Italian-Americans. He is the
patron of workers and the protector of the family. According to legend, there was a famine in Sicily many
centuries ago. The villagers prayed to St. Joseph for his help and their prayers were answered. The
famine ended. The villagers held a special feast of thanksgiving in commemoration of St Joseph. This
celebration feast is an annual Mt Carmel tradition. Mt Carmel Church invites you to take part in this
tradition. All are welcome!
