Come join our respite team! We are very excited to be building a staff team to work in our respite service supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.

St John of God Dublin South East has opportunities for Social Care Workers and Social Care Leaders in a new Residential Respite Service, based in Wyattville Hill, Loughlinstown.

Do you have a minimum QQI Level 7 Qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies/Social Care Studies or a relevant healthcare qualification?

We are looking for energetic Social Care Workers and Social Care Leaders who want an exciting, new and dynamic role. We are building a staff team to support in the re- opening of our respite location in Wyattville Hill, Loughlinstown, Co. Dublin. Wyattville Respite provides an opportunity for adults with intellectual disabilities to socialise with peers, enjoy an active and meaningful time away from their families and the continued development of their independent and life skills.

We are very excited to be planning for this re-opening and want you to join a renowned service in the intellectual disability sector. We are funded by the HSE and as such the role is within the public service and subject to annual increments, generous annual leave, and pensions.

Requirements

· Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working with individuals with an Intellectual Disability

· Be eligible to register with CORU.

· Knowledge and understanding of HIQA Standards & other relevant legislative requirements under the Health Act 2007.

· Proven track record in initiative, and motivation in activities planning and community building.

. · Commitment to delivering service through a person centred/directed approach.

. · Programme Development / Skills Teaching.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

· Flexibility in all aspects of work and able to meet the demands of a 24/7 respite care service.

· An understanding of the values and ethos of the organisation and a commitment to implementing these.

· Full clean manual driving licence essential.
