Spend a weekend immersed in Scottish culture at North America’s oldest continuous Highland Games!
Since 1849, the St. Andrew's Society of Detroit has kept Scottish traditions alive in Metro Detroit. Celebrating our 177th anniversary, we are proud to host the oldest continuous Highland Games in North America. Guests of all backgrounds travel from across the U.S. and Canada to join the celebration.
Kilts are encouraged but not required.

Kick off the weekend at the premier Scottish party of the year, our Cèilidh (pronounced Kay-lee). Enjoy an adult atmosphere with live bands, dancing, food, drink, and a lively entertainment tent. Check our website for this year’s entertainment lineup.
Friday Night Whisky Tasting | 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM - An high-end whisky tasting takes place Friday night during the Cèilidh. Purchase of the Friday night whisky tasting event includes admission to the Cèilidh all evening long. This event usually sells out quickly, so advanced purchase is strongly recommended. No waitlists are available.

Info: Join our Whisky Wizard, Elliot MacFarlane, for an intimate tasting of whiskies from his personal collection. Tickets for this event will likely sell out, so plan to purchase in advance. Attendees must be 21 years of age with proper ID. The purchase of the Friday night Whisky Tasting event includes admission to the Cèilidh on Friday night. The tasting will take place in the Blue House on the grounds of Greenmead.

Info: Saturday is our family-friendly celebration of all things Scotland. Cheer on thrilling competitions in Highland Dancing, Pipes & Drums, Heavy Athletics, and Tug O’ War, then stroll through Clan Row, trace your ancestry in the Genealogy Tent, let the wee ones play in the Wee Bairns area, browse unique vendors, or raise a dram or a pint while enjoying food and live music across the grounds. However you spend the day, expect plenty of pride, pageantry, and merriment. Come for the competition, stay for the craic!

Info: Not quite ready for the Heavy Athletics? The Wee Bairns area is the place to be! Designed for ages 4 to 12, this kid-friendly area features hands-on fun including scaled-down athletic games, bag tosses, fishing activities, crafts, storytelling, and creating a Clan Passport. Keep an eye out for a special appearance by Nessie, too! Best of all, all activities are included with admission.
