About this Event

Join us in our visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the only Spanish-speaking country in sub-Saharan Africa, where His Excellency Ambassador Miguel Envuna-Andeme, will share with us current security issues that affect Equatorial Guinea, the construction of its new capital city, relations with Spain, Spanish-speaking Latin America and the US, as well as the economic boom of the 90s. The event includes a presentation from AMbassador Envuna-Andeme, a Q&A session accompanied by traditional Equatorial Guinean snacks.

Please keep the following things in mind upon reserving:

1. Only save a place if you know you will be able to attend. Food will be prepared on behalf of the Embassy, and it's essential to provide accurate information on the number of attendees. If

2. Please make your arrival time 20 minutes before in order to assure the Embassy we can start the event on time.

3. Register with your real name and last name. If you register with a fake name, we won't process your order.

4. Only order 1 ticket per person. Other tickets will be liberated.

5. If you fail to cancel your reservation more than twice 72 hours (3 days) before the starting hour of the event, we will not accept any registrations to other Embassy events for the rest of the semester. This is because embassies prepare food and drinks according to the amount of participating students.

About the Speaker:

Ambassador Miguel Ntutumu (first/middle name) Evuna-Andeme presented his credentials as Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to the United States before President Barack Obama on February 23, 2015. Before being appointed Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Evuna-Andeme held the position of Director General of the Cabinet of the Department of Missions in the Presidency of the Republic in Malabo, the capital city of Equatorial Guinea, where his responsibilities included the preparation of declarations, speeches, and correspondence for the President of the Republic, Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema.

Previously, he was General Director of Administrative Affairs of the Presidency and, before that, Purchasing and Contract Advisor for the Hess Corporation in Equatorial Guinea.

Ambassador Evuna-Andeme received a BA in International Studies from La Roche College in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2003. While at La Roche, he co-founded the International African Student Forum. Ambassador Evuna-Andeme is fluent in Spanish and English.
