Have you ever considered becoming an SSI Dive Professional? It is a big step and a super-rewarding experience!
To become an SSI Divemaster, the program consists of 2 programs put together. The first is the Science of Diving Specialty. Following that, we will begin the Professional Dive Guide program and once both are completed, the Divemaster certification is issued.

Science of Diving Prerequisite
*Open Water Diver
Professional Dive Guide Prerequisites
*18 years old
*Logged 40 dives, totaling 25 hours or more by the time your DG certification is issued.
*Diver Stress & Rescue (with CPR)
*Deep Diver
*Night/Limited Visibility
*Navigation
*Pass all requirements and evaluations as listed in the DG Instructor Manual
*Pass Water Fitness Evaluation
*Pass Dive Guide Final Exam with 90%
Professional Divemaster Candidate Prerequisites:
*18 years old
*Logged 60 dives, totaling 40 hours or more by the time your DM certification is issued.

NOTE: You will need to attend at least 8 open water pool classes with me or selected other instructors. You will be given access to the training calendar so you can make plans to attend the sessions. Helping with these classes will give you a good base of learning to help students with issues.
Most open water scuba classes are Friday night (classroom), Saturday morning (pool), Saturday afternoon (classroom), Sunday morning (pool), with the following weekend to the lake for lake training. You only need to attend the pool sessions; however, you are always welcome to the classroom sessions.
*If at any time, I feel you are not ready to move ahead, we are dedicated to help you with additional training to complete the certification. Everyone learns at a different pace, and we will not push anyone through the course, nor will we compromise your safety or the safety of any diver.
Water Fitness Evaluation: (complete at the pool)
The purpose of this evaluation is to ensure that SSI Dive Professional candidates have an adequate level of fitness and comfort in the water prior to conducting any SSI training.
*Tread Water: Tread water for 15 minutes without using any aids or flotation of any kind. Last 2 minutes with hands out of the water.
*Surface Swim: Swim 775 meters without stopping within 20 minutes using a mask, fins, and a snorkel.
*Underwater Swim: Swim underwater for 25 meters using a mask, fins, and snorkel.
*Diver Rescue: Perform a full, unconscious-diver-on-the-surface rescue with a total distance of 100 meters within eight (😎 minutes. Both parties must use a Total Diving System.
Divemaster Course Fee:
Divemaster $1,275 (includes Science of Diving & Dive Guide Materials, eval slate, buddy team slate, organizer, wet notes, instructor fee/training and DM SSI Registration Fee)
If you know you want to go on to instructor, the instructor course is $2,500 (includes all DM and Instructor materials, slates, organizer, wet notes, instructor fee). However, when you enroll in DM, you can purchase the entire Instructor Pack, which saves you $350 for the bundle.
