About this Event
Join Mt Roskill Library on Sunday, March 30th at 11:00 AM for an immersive cultural experience at our Sri Lankan Craft Workshops. Our community will be hosting hands-on sessions where you can explore traditional Sri Lankan craft techniques, including weaving, beadwork, and embroidery. These workshops are designed to not only teach you new skills but also to connect you to the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka.
Throughout the event, experienced artisans from the Sri Lankan community will guide you through the process of creating your own handcrafted items. Whether you’re learning the delicate art of embroidery, the intricate patterns of beadwork, or the time-honored tradition of weaving, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation of Sri Lanka’s artistic traditions and a handmade craft of your own.
These workshops are open to all skill levels, from beginners to those with some experience. It’s a wonderful opportunity to engage with the culture, learn something new, and take home a piece of Sri Lanka’s vibrant craft heritage.
Don’t miss out on this unique and enriching experience! We look forward to sharing our traditions and creativity with you.
