Sri Chinmoy Meditation - Free Weekend Course
About this Event
Our 4 week course condensed into one weekend, 10am-1pm each day. Suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.
Saturday 18th July: United Reform Church Meeting Room, Redland Park
Sunday 19th July: Sri Chinmoy Centre, 155 Whiteladies Road
The course will be led by visiting speaker Nirbhasa McGee from the Dublin Sri Chinmoy Centre. Nirbhasa has been giving meditation classes and workshops around the world for the past 20 years, sharing the meditation secrets he learned from his teacher Sri Chinmoy. His classes are not so much about the theory, but rather the experience of meditation. Meditation is a state of being, where you feel calm and centred, but also feel a sense of peace and love inside your heart. And so the sessions will focus on simple and powerful ways to access this state of being.
As well as how to set up and maintain your meditation at home, he will also talk about how you can bring the peace of meditation into all areas of your life. After earning a PHd in physics Nirbhasa's own meditation journey has brought him into such areas as music and ultrarunning, and he has completed the world's longest certified foot race, the Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race, 4 times.
He's in Bristol for one weekend only, having recently returned from a tour teaching meditation in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
All our classes are based on the teachings and meditation techniques of Sri Chinmoy and are offered at no charge as a free community service by the Sri Chinmoy Centre in Bristol.
Note: There will be a mid-way break in each session. Tea and coffee provided. Pot-luck snacks – bring and share! (Vegetarian/vegan only please)
Note that each day is in a different location. (The two locations are just around the corner from each other.)
