Join Santa Rosa Women for Good and LandPaths for a hands-on day supporting forest health and wildfire prevention. Volunteers will help thin and prune forested areas and, if conditions allow, safely burn brush pilesβ€”an efficient, beginner-friendly way to reduce wildfire fuel and protect our community.
Activities may include:
-Moderate hiking
-Gathering wood debris & building burn piles
-Lighting, managing, and extinguishing burn piles
-Using hand tools to shape piles & assess heat
Please bring:
-Lunch, snacks & 2+ liters of water (no potable water onsite)
-Backpack, sturdy boots, long non-synthetic pants
-Sunglasses/safety glasses, bandana, leather gloves
-Hat & sunscreen
Good to know:
~1.5-mile round-trip hike on a somewhat steep, well-graded trail
Liability waiver required
No pets, smoking, or vaping
